Lubricantes anales

What are anal lubricants?

Anal lubricants are personal lubricants formulated specifically for anal sex and anal toy play. The anus does not self-lubricate and the tissue is more delicate than vaginal tissue, so these products are thicker, cushion more and last longer than a standard lube. The range runs from plain water-based anal glides to silicone formulas, hybrid moisturizers, relaxing gels with botanical ingredients and desensitizing creams. Generous lubrication is the single biggest factor in comfortable anal play, so this is not the place to be stingy. For the broader range of textures and bases, see all lubricants.

Types of anal lubricants

Water-based anal lubricants

Water-based anal lubes, such as Pjur Back Door Comfort and Analyse Me, are thicker than regular water-based lube, safe with every toy material and condom, and rinse away easily. They may need reapplying during longer sessions. Compare them with our general water-based lubricants.

Silicone anal lubricants

Silicone formulas are very slippery, last a long time without drying and are not absorbed by the body, which makes them a favorite for extended play. They should not be used with silicone toys, as they can damage the surface. Browse more in silicone lubricants.

Hybrid anal lubricants

Hybrids blend a water base with a small amount of silicone to give longer wear while staying easier to clean than pure silicone. Ultra-thick hybrid moisturizers in this collection sit in this group.

Relaxing gels

Relaxing anal gels use ingredients such as clove oil to help the muscles ease without fully numbing the area. You keep sensation, which is important for knowing when to slow down.

Desensitizing and numbing creams

Numbing gels and desensitizing creams and lubes reduce sensation. They can make entry feel easier, but they also mask pain signals that would normally tell you to stop, so they call for extra caution and an experienced, gentle partner.

How to choose anal lubricants

Match the formula to your toys, your experience level and how long you plan to play.

• Toy material: If you use silicone anal plugs or dildos, pick water-based or hybrid. Silicone lube is fine with glass, metal and body-to-body play.
• Thickness: Beginners and anyone using larger toys benefit from the thickest gels, which cushion and stay put. Thinner glides suit experienced users who want more glide than padding.
• Duration: Silicone and hybrid formulas last longest; water-based may need topping up.
• Sensation: Choose plain, warming or cooling, or a relaxing gel. Keep desensitizers as an occasional option, not a default.
• Flavor and scent: Flavored versions such as cherry, strawberry or cupcake suit rimming; unflavored is better if you have sensitive skin.

How to use and care for anal lubricants

Apply lube generously to both the anus and whatever is being inserted, and reapply whenever friction increases. Go slowly, breathe, and let the receiving partner set the pace.

• Any toy used anally needs a flared base so it cannot travel too far inside.
• Use water-based lube with silicone toys, and clean toys before and after with a toy cleaner.
• Use a fresh condom or wash thoroughly before switching from anal to vaginal contact.
• Stop if anything hurts. Discomfort that does not ease with more lube and a slower pace is a signal to pause.
• Store bottles closed at room temperature and note the use-by date on the label.

Anal lubricants for beginners, couples and solo play

First-timers should choose a thick, unflavored water-based or hybrid anal lube and skip numbing products until they know how their body feels during play. Couples exploring together may like a relaxing gel for the receiving partner plus a long-lasting silicone formula for body-to-body sex. Solo users working with plugs or beads should keep a toy-safe water-based bottle beside their anal toys and apply more than they think they need.
