Electroestimulación

What is electro play?

Electro play, also called e-stim or electrosex, uses low-level electrical current delivered through conductive toys to stimulate nerves and muscles. Depending on the setting it can feel like a tingle, a tap, a throb or an involuntary contraction, and it is unlike anything a vibrator does. A typical setup is a power box, cables, and attachments such as pads, cock rings, plugs, sounds or wands. Violet wands are a separate branch that produce a crackling static-style sensation on the skin. E-stim sits firmly at the kink end of our catalog alongside impact play and sensation play.

Types of electro play toys

Power boxes and beginner kits

Zeus Electrosex Powerbox units come in palm-size, handheld digital and deluxe versions, and the Beginner Electrosex Kit, Power Box Kit, Mingle couples kit and Deluxe Voltaic kit bundle a box with pads or attachments. See electro kits for all the bundles.

Pads and electrodes

Adhesive pads stick to the skin and are the gentlest place to begin. Electrode attachments and electro gel improve contact.

Cock, ball and urethral e-stim

The Zeus Vigor line, Power Cage sheath, Amplifier strap, elastic penis bands and Lightning Hood penis head teaser deliver current to the penis and testicles, while e-stim urethral sounds and inserts are for experienced users only.

Anal and internal e-stim

The Surge bi-polar prostate stimulator and the inflatable anal plug kit bring e-stim inside, with flared bases as standard.

Wands, shock toys and impact pieces

Zeus Twilight and Ultimate Edition violet wands come with attachments, and the Shock Rod, E-Stim Baton, Crop, Spiked Paddle and Silicone Flogger combine impact with a zap. Lux Fetish Electro Sex Shock toys add a remote-controlled jolt to a bullet, plug or wand.

How to choose electro play toys

E-stim rewards a careful, step-by-step approach.

• Experience: a beginner kit with a simple power box and adhesive pads is the right first step; sounds, prostate probes and violet wands come later.
• Power box features: more modes and a digital display give finer control; a palm-size box is simpler and less expensive.
• Attachments: make sure any extra electrode or toy is compatible with your box's connectors before buying.
• Bipolar versus pads: bipolar toys carry both poles on one piece for a focused sensation; pads spread it across the skin between them.
• Who is playing: the Mingle couples kit is designed for two; most other sets suit solo exploration first.

How to use and care for electro play toys

Read the manual, attach electrodes with the box switched off, start at the lowest setting and raise the intensity slowly. Keep all current below the waist and never place electrodes across the chest, on the head or neck, or so that current could pass through the torso. Do not use e-stim if you have an implanted electronic device or a heart condition, or if you are pregnant, and never use it on broken skin. Keep a clear check-in word and switch off immediately if anything hurts.

• Wipe pads and attachments with a toy cleaner or soapy water; keep the power box dry.
• Use only the gel or water-based lubricant the maker recommends; silicone lube can insulate contacts and damage silicone electrodes.
• Replace adhesive pads when they stop sticking, and check cables for fraying before each session.
• Store the box, cables and attachments together in a dry case.

Electro play for beginners, couples and advanced kink

Beginners should start with pads on the thigh to learn each mode before moving to more sensitive areas. Couples can share a Mingle kit or let one partner hold the box while the other wears the electrodes, pairing well with restraints as long as the wearer can always signal to stop. Advanced players combine violet wands, e-stim floggers and sounds into longer scenes, but the rules stay the same: low and slow, below the waist, off at the first sign of discomfort.
