Máscaras

What are bedroom masks?

In this collection a mask is anything worn over the eyes or face during play. Most are blindfolds: taking away sight heightens every other sense, builds anticipation and lets a shy partner relax because nobody is watching. Beyond blindfolds there are full-face masks and hoods that cover more and signal submission, decorative masquerade and animal masks for roleplay, and sets that pair a mask with a ball gag or a tail plug. Prices start very low for a basic satin eye mask, so a blindfold is one of the cheapest additions to a bedroom drawer.

Types of masks

Satin and fluffy eye masks

Ouch! satin eye masks, printed satin masks with cheeky slogans, soft and fluffy masks, the Nocturnal Collection eye mask and the Fetish Fantasy satin love mask are light, soft and elastic. They slip on in a second and suit anyone trying a blindfold for the first time.

Lace masks

The Ouch! Mystere lace mask and the Royal, Princess and Empress lace eye masks are more decorative than light-blocking. They work as much as a lingerie accessory as a blindfold.

Contoured and padded blindfolds

Ouch! contoured masks and the satin curvy eye mask with elastic straps are shaped around the nose and cheeks so no light leaks in, and the padding means they can be worn for longer without pressure on the eyes.

Leather masks and full-face hoods

Rouge's leather zip mask and zip eye mask, the Ouch! Submission and Subversion masks with open mouth or eyes and the Nocturnal X-Mask cover more of the face. They are heavier, more restrictive and carry a stronger message of control.

Costume, gag and tail sets

The Euphoria cat mask, the Fundies thong with a Zorro mask, the Fetish Fantasy masquerade mask and ball gag set, the Strict eye mask harness with ball gag and the Tailz bunny and black cat tail plug and mask sets bring a mask into a bigger roleplay scene.

How to choose a mask

Decide whether you want to block sight, cover the face or complete a costume, then choose the material to suit.

• Purpose: A soft eye mask for sensation play; a contoured mask for total darkness; a full-face mask or hood for submission scenes.
• Material: Satin and fluff for comfort; lace for looks; leather for weight and durability.
• Fit: Elastic straps fit most heads; zip and buckle masks adjust more precisely but take longer to remove.
• Breathing: Any mask that covers the mouth or nose must have clear openings, and gag sets need a quick release.
• Extras: Printed slogans and animal shapes are fun; plain black is the most versatile.

How to use and care for masks

Agree on a check-in word or signal before the blindfold goes on, since a blindfolded partner cannot read your face. Never leave a blindfolded or hooded partner alone, keep the room clear of trip hazards, and remove a gag immediately if breathing sounds laboured.

• Hand wash satin, lace and fluffy masks in cool water and lay them flat to dry.
• Wipe leather with a slightly damp cloth, dry it and condition occasionally; never soak it.
• Wash ball gags with mild soap or a toy cleaner, and clean tail plugs as you would any anal toy.
• Store masks flat or hanging so elastic and padding keep their shape.

Masks for beginners, couples and roleplay

A plain satin or fluffy eye mask is one of the gentlest first steps into kink, and our for beginners edit has more low-pressure ideas. Couples often pair a blindfold with restraints or a feather tickler, and the for couples range has sets built around exactly that. For heavier coverage and more structured headgear, browse masks and hoods, and for a look to match, see lingerie.
